What’s involved in an SEO Review?
Step 1: Figure out What Google/Yahoo/MSN Think About Your Site in its current state
Is your site showing up in Google? In Google’s search box if you type “site:example.com” (replace example.com with your own website address).
Visit the Google Webmasters tools add your website, see what pages have duplicate or missing meta tags, title tags, or other duplicate content.
Step 2: Analyze the content of your pages
What are the keyword density of your pages? Do you have W3C compliance or other HTML structural issues? Do your pages even contain the keywords most people “search for” in your market?
Step 3: Compare yourself to your competitors
Why is your competitor ranking higher than you? What inbound links do they have? What is different about their content compared to yours. What can you do better than your competitors?
Step 4: Make a plan of Attack
Now that you now what your website is like, and you know what your competitors site is like. Make a plan of attack. How will you update your site? What changes do you need to make?
